Aras Kargo Sports Club hosted children from Hatay who played volleyball using onion bags
as nets in a match held in Izmir, where Aras Kargo was the host. The children, who
attended the match as guests of Aras Kargo and had the opportunity to meet the
volleyball players, participated in training sessions, toured Izmir, and experienced exciting
moments while watching the match.
The women's volleyball team of Aras Kargo Sports Club, founded by Türkiye's leading and innovative
shipping company Aras Kargo, is enthusiastically continuing to compete in the Vodafone Sultanlar
League (Turkish Women's Volleyball League). After ending a 13-year hiatus and bringing the Vodafone
Sultanlar League (Turkish Women's Volleyball League) to the people of Izmir, Aras Kargo Sports Club
hosted students from Hatay İncirli Primary School, who made a volleyball net out of onion bags, at
their match against Eczacıbaşı DYNAVIT on Sunday, January 5, in Izmir. After seeing videos of children
making volleyball nets on social media, Aras Kargo contacted the school and invited the children to
Izmir to watch training sessions and volleyball matches, with the aim of making a difference in their
lives and giving them unforgettable memories. The students, who arrived in İzmir a day before the
match, enjoyed two exciting days. Visiting the players at the Atatürk Volleyball Hall Vestel Sports
Complex, the students met with the Aras Kargo Women's Volleyball Team. After watching the
training session and playing volleyball with the players, they explored İzmir and took a tour around
the city.
Among those who watched the match with the children were: Aras Kargo General Manager, Board
Member and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aras Kargo Sports Club Utku Ayyarkın; Aras Kargo
Deputy General Manager of Marketing, Corporate Communications, and Customer Experience and
Board Member of Aras Kargo Sports Club Billur Kaymak Burkutoğlu; and Aras Kargo Chief Legal
Advisor and Vice President of Aras Kargo Sports Club Yiğitcan Bozoğlu.
Ayyarkın: “Sharing our children's happiness brings us joy.”
Aras Kargo General Manager Utku Ayyarkın made a statement before the match, saying, “As Aras
Kargo, we have been supporting Turkish sports for many years at both the federation and club levels.
Believing in the unifying power of sports, we value the passion for volleyball in our country. Along
with our support for sports and our athletes, we also make a difference in the lives of children.
Recently, we were deeply moved by a video we saw on social media of students in Hatay playing
volleyball with nets made from onion bags. After seeing the children's enthusiasm in the video, we
invited them to our match in Izmir to share in their joy and help them create unforgettable
memories. We watched the match together with the children from Hatay, sharing in their
excitement. Building a bridge to the dreams of our children, who are our future through volleyball,
has been a great source of happiness and motivation for us. We would also like to thank the Turkish
Volleyball Federation for their support and for making it possible for us to come together with our
children. As Aras Kargo, we will continue our efforts to promote sports across our country, with a
particular focus on our younger generation.”
Aras Kargo General Manager Utku Ayyarkın made these beautiful moments even more memorable
by presenting students and teachers with gifts such as Aras Kargo Women's Volleyball Team jerseys,
volleyballs, and scarves.
