Children of Aras Kargo employees participate in Underwater Waste Exhibition and Education Workshop
Aras Kargo imbues children with the marine conservation awareness.
Aras Kargo proudly pursues its environmentally-oriented activities with the foundation of the Nature Friendly Araslar platform, which has been advocating environmental protection and the clean-up of Turkey"s coasts in partnership with TURMEPA for the past three years. The children of Aras Kargo employees were this year"s guests at the underwater litter exhibition and education workshop launched by TURMEPA to raise children"s awareness of marine conservation.
Aras Kargo proudly pursues its activities for the protection of the environment and founded the Nature Friendly Araslar platform in 2014 with the voluntary participation of its employees and continues to clean Turkey"s coasts by joining forces with the TURMEPA Turkish Marine Environment Protection Association. Nature Friendly Araslar"s biggest contributors to keeping our country"s coasts clean all the way from Izmir to Trabzon, from Bodrum to Adana, and keeping a total of more than 3 tons of waste from ending up in the seas, were their children during these activities. The children who had the opportunity to observe the environmental problems caused by waste during the coastal clean-up had new experiences and gained new information by participating in the Underwater Waste Exhibition and The Educational Workshop on 6 August.
The Children keep the ‘Clean Blue Promise”
The children of Aras Kargo employees who were this year"s guests at TURMEPA"s underwater waste exhibition and educational workshop, attended by thousands of children so far, had fun while having the opportunity to learn at the activities organised throughout the day. While they examined with great interest dozens of waste items such as bottles, plastics, electronic devices, clothes, bicycles and prams in the underwater waste exhibition, which is made up of the waste that TURMEPA has extracted from the sea as part of the seabed clean-up that it has been carrying out for years, they were also informed about issues such as reducing the use of waste that damages the marine ecosystem and the importance of recycling in the workshops they attended. The children of Aras Kargo who successfully completed the workshop were allowed to receive the "Blue Detective" certificate while taking the "Zero Waste Clean Blue Promise".
More than 3 tonnes of waste prevented from ending up in the sea
Founded in 2014 with the participation of volunteers, Nature-Friendly Araslar has been effectively keeping wastes away from the environment, damaging the marine ecosystem and endangering human health through coastal clean-up operations carried out jointly with TURMEPA (Turkish Marine Environment Protection Association) throughout Turkey. Aras Kargo, which has been keeping the coasts of Turkey clean for three years with the TURMEPA Turkish Marine Environment Protection Association, has so far cleaned the coasts of Istanbul Kınalıada, Büyükada, Samsun Atakent and Tekkeköy, Izmir, Fethiye, Trabzon, Lake Van, Bodrum, Adana Dam Lake and Burgazada. They collected more than 3 tonnes of waste and prevented it from ending up in the seas.
