Aras Kargo continues to clean Turkey"s coasts
In line with Aras Kargo"s environmental protection mission, "Nature Friendly Aras" which has been cleaning Turkey"s coasts for 3 years performed the second coastal cleanup of this year in Burgazada. Nature-friendly Aras collected a total of 45 kilograms of waste from the island"s coast, preventing more than 3 tons of waste from polluting the environment so far.
Aras Kargo, Turkey"s leading and innovative shipment company, continues to make a difference in the sector with its environmentally conscious practices to leave a cleaner world for future generations. Aras Kargo, which continues its activities with the environmental protection mission and established the "Nature Friendly Aras " platform with the voluntary participation of employees in 2014, cleaned the coasts of Turkey with TURMEPA Marine Clean Association in 2014, carried out the second coastal cleanup of the year in Burgazada after Samsun. Aras Kargo employees, who had previously cleaned the coasts of Büyükada and Kınalıada, collected 9 kilograms of paper, 22 kilograms of plastic, 10 kilograms of metal and 4 kilograms of glass waste in Burgazada, preventing a total of 45 kilograms of waste from entering the sea, thus saved 212 LT water, 308 KWH energy, 13 kg of raw materials and 0.4 LT of oil.
So far, nature-friendly Aras has cleared the coast of Istanbul Kınalıada, Büyükada, Samsun Atakent and Tekkeköy, Izmir, Fethiye, Trabzon, Van Lake, Bodrum, Adana Dam Lake and Burgazada. Volunteer Aras Kargo workers collected more than 1.5 tons of plastic, about 1 ton of glass, 333 kilograms of metal and 169 kilograms of paper waste from the coasts, recycling more than 3 tons of waste in total. They also prevented image pollution caused by waste and helped to improve the quality of life on the coasts.
